At our location in Dietzenbach/Germany we are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our team.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to take ownership of our CI/CD infrastructure, build pipelines, and deployment environments. As we scale, we need a dedicated expert to streamline, optimize, and maintain these critical systems.
A key focus of this role will be leading the gradual migration of existing build jobs from TeamCity to GitLab CI/CD, ensuring minimal disruption while optimizing our software delivery processes.
In this role, you will work closely with Research- and Development-Teams to improve and automate our build, test, and release processes, ensuring the security and reliability of our software delivery pipeline. Your contributions will be essential in maintaining and evolving our internal Git repositories, GitLab instances, TeamCity environment, signing and update servers, and other build-related services.
Your Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for software development and deployment.
- Lead the migration from TeamCity to GitLab CI/CD, ensuring smooth transition and minimal impact on existing workflows.
- Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform or similar technologies.
- Manage containerized applications with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Automate workflows with custom scripts (e.g., for monitoring, build optimization, and security compliance).
- Serve as a bridge between Development and Infrastructure teams, facilitating a smooth DevOps workflow.
- Optimize and document release management and deployment processes.
- Establish and manage a secure secrets store for build and deployment processes.
- Develop and maintain Helm Charts for Kubernetes-based applications.
- Maintain and upgrade build-related infrastructure, including signing and update servers.
- Provide guidance and training to internal teams, ensuring best practices in DevOps.
Your Profile
- Strong experience in CI/CD pipeline management (TeamCity, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or similar).
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Pulumi, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.
- Experience in migrating legacy CI/CD systems to modern platforms.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
- Experience in secure secrets management for automated deployment workflows.
- Familiarity with software signing, package updates, and repository management.
- Strong understanding of monitoring, logging, and performance optimization in CI/CD.
- Comfortable working in a security-conscious environment with a focus on automated security testing.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- At least 3 Years of experience in a similar Role.
Bonus Skills
- Experience with GitOps methodologies (ArgoCD, Flux).
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Prior experience in DevSecOps and compliance automation.
- Background in software security and threat modeling.
